Precision Release Lysine

AminoShure®-L is a highly concentrated, encapsulated source of lysine for dairy cow rations.  It was introduced to the U.S. dairy industry in 2008 as an alternative to blood meal. In 2011, Balchem introduced a reformulated version of AminoShure-L, which increased the lysine level from 38% to 52%. 

On May 29, 2012, we announced the decision to suspend the manufacturing and marketing of AminoShure®-L (52% lysine). This move is voluntary, and in keeping with our core commitment of superior product performance.

Recent research indicated that the lysine bioavailability of AminoShure®-L is lower than originally projected, and we determined it does not meet internal standards. Even though dairy nutritionists and producers have reported positive results when using AminoShure-L, we took this action to aggressively pursue product improvements.

We intend to reintroduce AminoShure-L once it meets our own performance standards.
