Propylene Oxide
Propylene Oxide is used principally as a chemical intermediate in the manufacturing of items such as flexible and rigid foams, elastomers, coatings, adhesives, and injection moldings, which are ultimately used in tub-shower combinations, gasoline tanks, boat hulls, etc.
Propylene Oxide is often used as a humectant-type additive. Derivatives of Propylene Oxide are used in certain foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, semi-moist pet foods, and tobacco. They are also used in defoamers, oil-field chemicals, lubricants, greases, wetting agents, latex paints, and water scavengers.
