Balchem was founded in 1967 by a group consisting of entrepreneurs, investors, and Dr. Leslie Balassa, an expert in the field of encapsulation. The company was initially housed in a laboratory on the top floor of the Chemists Club in New York City until purchasing its first manufacturing site, a former dairy in Slate Hill, New York. Balchem became a publicly traded company in 1970 and is listed on NASDAQ under the symbol “BCPC.” Our corporate headquarters are located in New Hampton, New York, along with a broad network of sales offices, manufacturing sites, and R&D centers, primarily across the US and Europe.

At Balchem, we are committed to making the world a healthier place by delivering trusted, innovative, and science-based solutions to the nutrition, health, and food markets. We provide the service, quality, and technology that enables our customers to win with their customers. We have built a reputation for delivering results to all of our stakeholders.

Balchem solves today’s challenges to shape a healthier tomorrow.

Our Core Values

Always Doing the Right Thing

In every decision we are committed to doing what is in the best interest of our employees, customers, shareholders, and the communities in which we operate. We are inclusive, treat others with respect, and lead by example. We take responsibility for our own personal safety as well as the safety of our colleagues. We follow all established policies and applicable laws. Simply said, we hold ourselves to the highest standard.

Thinking Big and Acting Small

We believe that better is always possible and that we can indeed make the world a healthier place. We encourage curiosity, diversity of thought, and “out of the box” thinking. We are open to new ideas and new ways of getting things done. Our aspirational mindset is essential to our future success. As we grow, we want to remember our entrepreneurial beginnings and retain the humility and agility that made us who we are today.

Staying Focused on the Customer

We recognize that without our customers we do not exist. We are united in helping our customers succeed, grow, and win in their markets.

Collaborating and Growing Together

We believe that collaboration is key to our success and that there is no time for building internal barriers. We are a team that supports one another and works well together to achieve common goals. Our collaborative environment fosters teamwork and drives growth. We understand that the success of our company requires a collective effort, resulting in opportunity and growth for all our employees and stakeholders.

Playing to Win

We strive to be successful in everything that we do. We are ambitious and determined in how we approach opportunities and have a sense of urgency to drive results. We believe that we will solve today’s challenges to shape a healthier tomorrow.

Making the World a Healthier Place: Our 2019 Sustainability Report

Every day, Balchem is delivering trusted solutions that enhance health and nutrition through science.  Our two sustainability objectives remain the same as we look to the future:

Providing innovative solutions for the health and nutritional needs of the world

Operating with excellence as strong stewards of our employees, customers, shareholders, and communities (our stakeholders)

Our mission is clear – to make the world a healthier place.  One of our proud accomplishments is our impact on 1.4 billion people this year through human nutrition products, and through people being fed by animals supplemented with our vital nutrients.

Our Sustainability Framework focuses on the most critical Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) topics relevant to our business and stakeholders. This report highlights our efforts within three pillars: People, Planet, and Profit. We welcome you to join our sustainability journey as we help make the world a healthier place.

Balchem Helping Hands

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program, Balchem’s Helping Hands is comprised of two main components – Corporate Giving and Employee Volunteering.  By harnessing the collective efforts of our employees, Balchem gives back to the local communities where we operate and provides a helping hand to those in need.

Corporate Giving

Balchem Helping Hands Matching Donation Program supports our employees in their personal philanthropy and charitable giving by providing monetary matches (dollar for dollar) for qualified, nonprofit organizations that align with Balchem’s mission to make the world a healthier place.

Balchem also supports and partners with organizations that share the same mission of making the world a healthier place.  We are proud to support Vitamin Angels and Feeding America.   Click on the logos below to learn more about these great organizations.

Employee Volunteering

Balchem Helping Hands Volunteer Program allows our employees to collaborate and share best practices for volunteer activities.   Our local site teams organize volunteer events at charities in the communities where we operate.   Whether it is packing up food at a food bank, cleaning up the landscape, or donating backpacks, Balchem Helping Hands supports our local communities.
